Focused Laser Care
How it works
Laser light is delivered at wavelengths chosen so that it is absorbed by a particular target in the skin, such as pigment. Different concerns absorb light differently, which is why the assessment comes before the device is chosen. Laser is studied and used for pigmentation, tone and texture concerns where it is judged suitable.
Who it's for
- Carrying pigmentation, sun damage or uneven tone you want assessed
- Wanting the device chosen for your skin rather than a one-size treatment
- Willing to work through a planned course with review points along the way
What to expect
Protective eyewear, a patch test where it is indicated, and a snapping or warm sensation as the laser passes. Aftercare, including sun protection, is explained before you leave and you are asked back for review.
Not suitable during pregnancy, over recently tanned or sun-exposed skin, over active infection or inflammation in the treatment area, or while taking photosensitising medication such as isotretinoin.
Skin type, medical history and medication are all reviewed, suitability is decided at consultation, and we will say so if laser is not right for you.
